    Arise is seeking a Security Project Analyst to join our dedicated Security team. This is an opportunity to grow your career in the important and expanding field of Information Security. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for security and data privacy and a commitment to project execution. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, previous experience coordinating projects and the ability to work cross-functionally. You will need to bring those people skills because we need you to be able to effectively represent and communicate the Security team perspective. You will also need a good background and knowledge of IT systems and processes to be able to get into the details with the technology teams. There will be lots to do and learn but for the right person it will be a great opportunity as you work with the team to analyze risk, document procedures, plan and implement projects, track progress and manage audits.


    Analyzing risk – reviewing current practice

    • Understand existing sources of data used by the company, ensure that data in the company’s possession is acquired and used consistently with the restrictions associated with its acquisition
    • Develop and implement a Privacy Impact Assessment processes in accordance with applicable business units and functions
    • Work with internal teams to understand day-to-day processes in order to implement new security and data protection methods and contribute to ongoing process improvements


    Process and procedure – documenting and establishing goals

    • Assist in development of a security and data privacy audit program including designing templates, suggesting policy improvements, and aligning assessments to current policies
    • Maintain and establish a register of data owners for sets of information and educate the data owners on their responsibilities (what is data, how is it used, who has access to it)


    Projects and implementation – making the changes needed

    • Project manage security related projects coordinating resources from multiple teams to ensure successful outcomes
    • Assist in the development of corrective action plans for identified security and data privacy issues and collaborate with operational teams to implement and maintain any required safeguards and remedial measures
    • Collaborate with IT department to assist in ensuring that data security practices comply with privacy and compliance requirements
    • Participate in new business initiatives and product development activities to promote and implement functionality necessary to support required security and data privacy capabilities
    • Promote security and data protection awareness throughout the organization
    • Coordinate deliverables, timelines and project specific activities performed by cross-functional project teams
    • Work to control change, adjust the budget, timeline, and project scope to accommodate approved changes
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders


    Audits and compliance – tracking progress and responding to audits

    • Assist in processing, coordinating and responding to all security and privacy audits, including PCI and SOC 2, Type II audits, and other requests for information
    • Maintain data inventories and data flow maps as necessary
    • Undertaking systematic security and data protection compliance audits
    • Assist with investigations into complaints about breaches of the security and data privacy


    • College degree BA/BS
    • 5+ years of experience of coordinating technical projects involving multiple internal and external teams
    • 5+ years of relevant working experience in information security and privacy and/or IT
    • 5+ years of relevant working experience managing projects of all sizes through all phases, from initiation to post-deployment
    • Good knowledge of IT systems, processes, and information security practices
    • Must be organized, detail and goal-oriented
    • Communication skills and the ability to work with external partners
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
    • Ability to adapt to changing business situations
    • Ability to break down complex projects into concrete actions
    • Ability to present ideas and recommendations effectively to different audiences
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

     Preferred but not required:

    • Additional experience with IT systems, applications and processes
    • Specific experience in coordinating information security projects
    • Current security certification e.g. Security+, CEH, CISSP
    • Other IT certification e.g. CCNA, MCSE, Network+
    • Project management certification e.g. Project+, MPM, IAPM, PMI
