    The Payroll & Benefits Specialist is a valuable member of the Arise Human Resources team, responsible for leading and owning several key processes.  These essential processes include Payroll & HRIS Administration, Benefits Administration, and a few very important touchpoints in the Employee Life-Cycle.     Responsibilities

    Payroll & HRIS Administration:

    • Responsible for accurately and effectively processing of payroll for four countries; United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland.
      • Effectively navigate through ADP WorkforceNow system
    • Reporting as necessary.
    • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, termination, and employee statistics for government reporting.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality of client, company and personnel information.
    • Run, distribute and analyze reports for HR and Finance teams as needed
    • Track, process and document all Compensation Changes in HRIS
    • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with human resources team to improve payroll and HRIS processes.

    Benefits Administration:

    • Responsible for accurately and effectively administering benefits on the Enterprise level to include (but not limited to):
    • Plans and administers annual open enrollment period. This includes preparation (or revision) and distribution of materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees, and processing changes within deadlines.
    • Owning New Employee / Life Change Event / Termination Changes and Enrollments
    • Owning preparation of annual DOL filings and coordinate tax filings with ADP
    • Coordinating benefit issues on behalf of employees with providers, and/or Broker.
    • Maintains contact with health insurance providers; distributes benefit information to employees and notifies employees of changes to the benefits program.
    • Reconciles invoices as necessary
    • Retirement 401(k) plan administration
    • Fulfills all governmental regulatory mandates and ensures filings are performed as required.
    • Plans, conducts and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee and works closely with Accounting for quarterly and year end audits (payroll, 401k, etc.).
    • Prepares statistical summaries and reports from the HRIS involving payroll information, demographic data and other employee data, requiring knowledge of the various Human Resources disciplines. Assists to maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data and reviewing source documents for accuracy and completion of data input.
    • Administer the company’s Tuition Reimbursement program

    Employee Life-Cycle:

    • Coordinates and conducts the new employee on boarding process and presents benefits presentations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions
    • Maintains electronic personnel files on current and past employees and enforces Arise personnel policies on confidentiality and access to files
    • Develop knowledge of company policies & procedures to effectively communicate guidelines when responding to daily employee inquiries.
    • Maintain company organizational charts
    • Prepare employee exit documents and provide last day details

     

    Company Events:

    • Assist with company events led and facilitated by the Human Resources Team
    • Carries out duties of conducting employee recognition activities like Loyalty Awards, Above & Beyond Awards, etc.

    Qualifications

    • At least 3+ years of experience administering payroll, HRIS and benefits processes required. Work experience should include knowledge of basic human resources, payroll practices, benefits administration, and compliance or other related experience.
    • Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including payroll, benefits, time & attendance and HRIS and self-service systems. Experience with ADP a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree or relevant years of experience; CEBS, CPP and/or PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred.
    • General knowledge of employment laws and practices; i.e. Title VII, COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA
    • Demonstrates exceptional analytical skills and ability to create useful and actionable reports from data.
    • Demonstrated experience in innovating and reinventing processes leveraging technology
    • Possess strong organization skills and ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to edit and proofread.
    • Possess a creative outlook with a problem-solving attitude.
    • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
    • Flexibility to take on other duties as assigned
